About Matthew

Matthew L. Gibson is a partner who was called to the Bar in 2009 and has been with the firm since 2008, making partner in 2017. Born and raised in Hamilton, he earned an Honours B.A. from McMaster University in 2004 before completing his LL.B. at the University of Windsor in 2008 and articling with the firm. His practice is primarily civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance defence and personal injury matters for both large companies and individual clients. He has appeared at tribunal hearings, motions, pre-trials, and trials across Ontario, as well as at mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Matthew is active with the Hamilton Law Association, the Hamilton Medical-Legal Society, the Hamilton Lawyers' Club, and Canadian Defence Lawyers, and has served on the Board of Directors of Ancaster Community Services since 2016.
