About Matthew

Matthew Duffy is a partner at Pitblado Law with a broad litigation practice emphasizing insurance litigation, including defending life and disability claims, occupier liability claims, coverage disputes, commercial disputes, personal injury claims, wrongful dismissal claims, and condominium and real property disputes. He grew up in Winnipeg, earned his J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2002, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003, practising litigation at a Toronto insurance defence firm before returning to Winnipeg and joining Pitblado Law in 2007, when he was admitted to the Manitoba Bar. He also holds an M.A. from York University (1999) and a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Manitoba (1997). Duffy sits on the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation board and chairs the Winnipeg Soccer Federation.
