About Matthew

Matthew Boyd is a senior associate at Beitel Tax Law LLP who has focused solely on tax law since finishing his law degree in 2018. He handles CRA disputes for business owners and high net worth clients from start to finish and counsels both corporate and individual taxpayers on complicated tax questions. He has guided many clients through the Voluntary Disclosure Program, covering everything from unfiled returns to offshore holdings in tax havens, and regularly works on audits, objections, and Tax Court appeals touching on real estate characterization, directors' liability, and net worth assessments. He previously sat on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association's Tax Law Section and has written articles on the CRA's disclosure process. He holds a JD from Dalhousie's Schulich School of Law, a degree in Economics and Financial Management from Wilfrid Laurier University, and completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Course, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2019.
