Martin W. Bühler, K.C. is a civil litigation lawyer at Bühler Law near Ladysmith and Nanaimo on central Vancouver Island. His practice covers wills and estates litigation, commercial litigation, corporate and partnership disputes, contract and property claims, and breach of trust claims, and he has appeared before the BC Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and Ontario's Superior and Divisional Courts. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto in 1999 and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University in 1995, and was called to the bar in Ontario in 2001 (since resigned) and in British Columbia in 2003. He articled and practised commercial litigation at a Bay Street firm before returning to Vancouver in 2003 and later moving to Nanaimo in 2017. He was appointed King's Counsel in January 2026 and was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration in 2008 for service with the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve. A member of the Simpcw First Nation, he co-chairs the Aboriginal Lawyers Forum of the Canadian Bar Association's BC Branch and serves as a director of the CBA (BC Branch) and a trustee of the Cranberry Fire Protection District.
