About Martha

Martha C. Côté is an associate at Torys focusing on litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on commercial and public law disputes. Before joining the firm, she held a public relations role at a global technology company. She is a member of several professional organizations, including The Advocates' Society and the Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History, as well as an association representing French-speaking jurists in Ontario known as AJEFO. From 2024 to 2025, she clerked for Justices Rouleau, Thorburn, Favreau, and Gomery at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, working in a bilingual capacity. During law school, Martha held the role of division leader at Downtown Legal Services, where she represented tenants before the Landlord and Tenant Board. She also took on the role of editorial manager at the Faculty of Law Review at the University of Toronto.
