About Mark

Mark Alward practices labour and employment law, having represented clients before all levels of Manitoba Court and administrative tribunals including the Manitoba Human Rights Tribunal and Manitoba Labour Board. He was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2019 after earning his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Manitoba. Mark has developed particular experience with restrictive covenants and sports-related employment matters, and is the Canadian host of the Employment Law Alliance's 'Employment Matters' podcast. He has served as Vice President Officials for Hockey Winnipeg since 2017 and received the Best Lawyers 'Ones to Watch' recognition in Labour and Employment in 2025.
