About Megan

Megan Young is a partner in Cochrane Sinclair's Vancouver office and a member of the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation. Her litigation practice focuses on Aboriginal, administrative, commercial, and environmental law, including Aboriginal rights and title disputes, treaty rights, environmental assessments of major projects, and regulatory matters. She has appeared before the Federal Court of Appeal, the British Columbia Supreme Court, and various federal and provincial regulatory bodies, and is called to practice in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Before becoming a lawyer she worked in Indigenous-focused business strategy and development roles, which she says gives her firsthand insight into the business challenges her clients face. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta.
