About George

George Derwin practices corporate and commercial law, real estate, wills, and estate planning, with particular expertise in competency matters involving powers of attorney and committeeship applications. He served as Manitoba's Deputy Public Trustee in 2007, overseeing $118 million in trust assets for vulnerable adults, and represented interests in the Phoenix Sinclair Inquiry from 2011 to 2013. He has conducted international commercial work for Manitoba Hydro across roughly 70 countries, served as trial counsel in the Headingley Riot proceedings, and has appeared before all levels of court including two cases at the Supreme Court of Canada. He holds mediation and negotiation certificates from Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation and international commercial law training from the College of Law of England and Wales.
