About Marie

Marie Helene Desaunettes was called to the Quebec Bar in 1995 and is a senior lawyer at Bélanger Longtin, practising insurance and construction law, civil and commercial litigation, professional and civil liability, and class actions. With over 30 years in litigation and civil-liability work, including more than 15 years focused on insurance and construction law, she serves insurers, contractors and building professionals on matters with major financial stakes, regularly collaborating with outside experts. Early in her career she completed a two-year articling period with Quebec Superior Court judges, including Chief Judge Lawrence Poitras. Desaunettes holds an LL.B. from the Université de Montréal and took part in the Pictet Competition in international law in 1995. She has been a member of the Canadian Bar Association since 2006.
