About Gaétane

Gaétane Desharnais was called to the Quebec Bar in 1992 and practises insurance law, professional liability and manufacturer's liability, as well as construction law and disciplinary law. She favours alternative dispute resolution methods and is an accredited mediator with the Barreau du Québec, drawing on extensive knowledge of the insurance sector to handle complex litigation and advise organizations on professional law and liability matters. Desharnais holds a B.C.L.-LL.B. from McGill University's National Program in Civil and Common Law (1991) and a Master of Laws from the Université de Montréal (2006), for which she won the Prix Minerve in 2007 for best master's thesis. She has authored work on professionalization and preventing professional liability, and a procedural-reform synthesis distributed to Quebec Bar members and Superior and Quebec Court judges.
