About Marianne

Marianne Salih is a partner and trial and appellate lawyer who has litigated at every level of court in Ontario and appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. She heads the firm's appeals litigation department and maintains an online digest tracking new appellate criminal case law. She has represented accused persons in cases involving sexual assault, firearms and homicide charges, and has more than 140 reported decisions to her name. She earned her honours arts degree and her law degree, both with high standing, from the University of Toronto, and before joining the firm worked in criminal and human rights law in Kenya, Amsterdam and Geneva. In 2025 she received the L'expert Rising Star award as one of Canada's top lawyers under 40, and she has been named one of Toronto's top criminal defence lawyers by Post City Magazine for three consecutive years. She speaks conversational Arabic.
