About Madelaine

Madelaine Thurston is a corporate and real estate lawyer who handles complex corporate restructurings, secured lending transactions, and corporate and commercial real estate acquisitions and sales. She advises leading financial institutions and borrowers on loan arrangements ranging from $1 million to more than $20 million, preparing documentation including mortgages, guarantees, and general security agreements. Her corporate practice includes detailed reorganizations, drafting resolutions, transferring shares, and creating family trusts, along with advising on incorporations and share purchases and sales. She also acts for commercial and residential real estate developers on purchases, sales, financing, leasing, and property development, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research Canada. She was called to the bar in 2015, earning her J.D. (Common Law, Cum Laude) from the University of Ottawa in 2014 and an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Ottawa in 2011.
