About M.

Imtiaz Karamat is an associate at Deeth Williams Wall practising in privacy, cybersecurity, technology contracting, information technology, and intellectual property law. His work covers IP commercialization and regulatory law, and he helps both startups and established companies with commercial deals and privacy compliance. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Canada. Before law school, Imtiaz did graduate research in the medical sciences, which gives him a particular angle on technology matters that touch health care and life sciences. He often takes part in continuing education efforts in technology and privacy law, organizing and speaking at legal programs. Imtiaz joined the firm as a summer student in 2019 and completed his articles there in 2021. He earned his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2020, following an M.Sc. and an Honours B.Sc. from McMaster University, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2021.
