About Linda

Linda Matthews is a partner whose trial and appellate practice has focused on advocacy and insurance litigation for over 20 years. She has extensive jury and non-jury trial experience along with expertise in catastrophic claims, and she has represented insurers in arbitrations before the Licence Appeal Tribunal, the Financial Services Commission, and in private arbitrations and loss transfer disputes. Her reported decisions include Sanofi Pasteur Limited v. UPS SCS, Inc. and Debruge v. Arnold, and she has won numerous summary judgment motions on files ranging from subrogation disputes to occupiers' liability claims. Linda advises clients on insurance coverage, CGL policies, tort motor vehicle litigation, statutory accident benefits, medical malpractice, and product liability, and she lectures to lawyers and insurance professionals on trial advocacy. She belongs to the Advocates' Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto, and the Canadian Defence Lawyers.
