About Layla
Layla Makhzoumi is an associate at KMB Law, working within the firm's corporate and commercial, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity groups. Her work centers on asset and share purchase deals, shareholder and partnership agreements, and drafting commercial contracts. Before coming to KMB, she was a corporate associate at a national Toronto firm and served as legal counsel at a major accounting firm. She holds a J.D. from Western University and a B.A. (Hons.) from McGill University, and worked as a bank analyst before law school. She was called to the Ontario bar in 2021 and speaks English and Arabic. Earlier in her career she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and chaired the Diversity Committee at Western Law.
