About Lauren
Lauren Maynes completed her undergraduate degree in International Development and Globalization at the University of Ottawa before earning her JD from the university's English Common Law section in 2025. She developed a strong interest in civil litigation and client advocacy during law school, including participation in various moots. Before joining Simmonds Law, she summered and articled with a full-service civil litigation firm in downtown Ottawa, gaining experience in insurance defence, employment, construction, and professional liability, and appearing before Small Claims Court, the Superior Court of Justice (including the Divisional Court), and various administrative tribunals across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. She was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2026 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
