About Karen

Karen Kernisant is a lawyer at Simmonds Law who was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She earned a bachelor's degree in Translation from the Université de Montréal before moving to Ottawa to study law, graduating from the Common Law and Civil Law sections of the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law in 2015 and 2016. She articled at a mid-size, full-service firm, gaining experience in family law, employment law, and civil and commercial disputes, and has since practiced in rural Eastern Ontario, appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court, and the Court of Appeal.
