About Laura

Laura Olsen is an associate who returned to Carfra Lawton after completing her articles with the firm in 2024-2025, having previously worked there as a summer articled student in 2023. Her practice covers insurance defence broadly, including personal injury, health law, medical malpractice, motor vehicle defence, municipal liability, and insurance coverage. Before law school, Olsen worked for seven years with Alberta Health Services, including on inpatient medical units, and during law school in Saskatchewan she participated in the Dean's Forum on AI in the legal profession and volunteered with Pro Bono Canada. She earned a B.A. in Social Work from the University of Regina (2015) and a J.D. from the University of Saskatchewan (2024), and is also a longtime minor hockey coach and volunteer.
