Civil Litigation & Dispute ResolutionLaura Hillyer practices personal injury law and insurance litigation, representing people seriously injured in car accidents, those whose disability claims were denied, and slip and fall victims hurt by negligence. She also advocates for survivors of sexual and physical abuse, taking on claims involving both past and more recent incidents. She studied History at Queen's University before completing her law degree at Western in 1999, and was called to the bar two years later, in 2001. Early in her career she divided her time between personal injury litigation and criminal defence, trial experience she now applies for her injury clients. Laura has served as Past President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers' Association and sits on the Board of the Ontario Safety League, and she practices through Hillyer Professional Corporation.
