About Kyle

Kyle Lamothe is a partner in the Toronto office of Thorsteinssons LLP, a firm that practices exclusively in tax law. His private client practice centers on Canadian tax planning for high-net-worth families and owner-managed businesses, along with the trusts and structures around them, with particular attention to cross-border issues. He also advises on corporate structuring, private wealth and estate planning, business succession, cross-border moves in and out of Canada, and buying and selling businesses. Kyle's TEP designation reflects full membership in the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and he also completed STEP Canada's Diploma in Trusts and Estates. Before joining Thorsteinssons he worked in the tax group of a large national firm and clerked at the Federal Court of Canada. He speaks and writes regularly on tax topics for organizations including the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Law Society of Ontario.
