About Kirby
Kirby Smith is currently on leave. She is an advocate for unions and workers, working mainly in labour, human rights, class action, and administrative law, and has appeared before labour arbitrators, labour relations boards, other workplace tribunals, the BC Court of Appeal, and provincial and superior courts in BC and Alberta. After graduating from McGill University's Faculty of Law she completed her articles at a large BC union and worked as an Industrial Relations Officer with the BC Employment Standards Branch. She sits on the Legal Advisory Committee of the Migrant Workers Centre and volunteers with Access Pro Bono BC's Mental Health Program and francophone telephone clinics.
