About Katie

Katie Newman is an associate at McKercher LLP's Saskatoon office with a general civil litigation practice focused primarily on insurance defence and health law. She has appeared across Saskatchewan courts and administrative tribunals and advises clients on privacy and data compliance. She teaches Negotiation as a sessional lecturer at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Law and coaches its negotiation moot team. Katie earned a Bachelor of Music from McGill University in 2016 and a Juris Doctor with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2020, and was recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Canada 2026 for Alternative Dispute Resolution and Privacy and Data Security Law.
