About Katie

Katie Hunter brings a multi-disciplinary, child-focused approach to family law litigation and alternative dispute resolution, holding both a law degree and a Master of Social Work. She received the annual Nicholas Bala Award for Excellence in Children and Family Law and has co-authored several articles with Dr. Bala on children and the law. She is a certified parenting coordinator, has trained in family therapy, and regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice, with experience before the Court of Appeal and Divisional Court as well. She presents at the Mandatory Information Program at Newmarket Court. She earned her JD from Queen's University and her MSW, specializing in children and their families, from the University of Toronto, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016.
