About Alissa

Alissa N. Winicki leads the Estate and Capacity Law Litigation department at Hummingbird Lawyers. Her practice covers contested estates, capacity issues, and succession disputes, drawing on a background that also includes estate administration, succession planning, family law, and civil litigation. She regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice and occasionally the Court of Appeal, and has acted as counsel in a number of reported decisions. Alissa was called to the Ontario bar in 2016 after earning an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, an LL.B. with honours from the University of Leicester, and a B.Com. from York University. She is a contributing editor for Choate on Discovery, 2nd edition, and has served as Vice-Chair of Covenant House Toronto's NextGen Council. Outside work she enjoys ultimate frisbee, motorcycle trips, and cooking.
