About Katherine

Katherine Toner is a partner in Stewart McKelvey's Fredericton office. She works with local, national and multinational insurance companies, providing coverage opinions and defending claims involving bodily injury, property, life and disability, and commercial liability. She also advises corporations, municipalities and institutions on construction, product liability, and contractual matters, with a particular interest in agriculture stemming from her farming background. Her experience includes providing complex insurance coverage opinions, successfully defending a police officer and municipality against a claim of negligent investigation, and representing agricultural clients in civil claims involving product liability and contract disputes. Toner earned her LLB from Université de Moncton in 2009 and a BA from St. Thomas University in 2005, and was called to the New Brunswick bar in 2010. She chairs the New Brunswick Agricultural Appeal Board and is a past president of the New Brunswick Insurance Women's Association.
