About Kara

Kara O'Halloran became Chivers Carpenter's managing partner following Madam Justice Kristan McLeod's appointment to the Alberta Court of King's Bench. She began at the firm as a summer student during law school, articled there in 2004, and became a partner in 2011. Kara has participated in numerous Alberta Labour Relations Board and arbitration hearings, with a special interest in assisting workers at the Workers' Compensation Board, appearing before the Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers' Compensation and making submissions to the WCB and Disputes Resolution Decision Review Body. She has taught Labour Law at the University of Alberta since 2021 and is a frequent conference speaker.
