About Kamal

Kamal is a partner who advocates for and advises trade unions. He helps unions win certification, fend off raids and termination attempts, and protect bargaining rights in sale of business and related employer scenarios, and he focuses on holding employers accountable when they commit unfair labour practices during organizing drives. He litigates and settles grievances and also advises unions on occupational health and safety, human rights, the duty of fair representation, collective bargaining, judicial review, and internal union affairs. Kamal graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and, before law school, worked as an organizer for a service sector union. He earned his J.D. in 2014 and a B.A. from Boston College in 2004, and he was called to the Ontario bar in 2015.
