About Julie
Julie is a member of Patterson Law's Labour and Employment team and a certified workplace investigator who conducts independent workplace investigations and assessments. She works on behalf of First Nations on a range of issues and was lead negotiator and legal counsel in the $125 million specific land claim settlement between We'koqma'q L'nue'kati and Canada, later preparing the resulting trust agreement and advising on its implementation. Julie has represented clients before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Tribunal, the Utility and Review Board, the Nova Scotia Assessment Appeal Tribunal, the Human Rights Board of Inquiry, and the Labour Board, as well as before the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal, Nova Scotia Supreme Court, Provincial Court, Family Court, and Small Claims Court. She earned her law degree from Dalhousie Law School in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science in 2001, and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2005.
