About Julia

Julia Garzon is a partner at MedLégal focusing on health law and medical liability. She holds a civil law degree and a common law degree (B.C.L./LL.B.) from McGill University, along with a specialized graduate diploma in health law and policy from the Université de Sherbrooke. Admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 2002, she began her career on the defense side handling insurance and professional liability matters before joining Ménard Martin Avocats in 2006, where she represented health system users and victims of medical error. She has more than 20 years of experience in medical, hospital, dental, and pharmaceutical liability, as well as disability insurance, forensic psychiatry, and protective supervision matters. Garzon has authored and presented numerous conferences for legal and health care professionals and the public, has published in reference works, and has taught at the Université de Montréal.
