Family LawJulia Cornish practises family law and adoption law at CDR Law, with more than 40 years of experience. She handles separation and divorce matters, including complex financial arrangements involving corporate interests, and drafts cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts, alongside adoption proceedings. She is certified in Collaborative Family Law and advises clients in both traditional and alternative dispute resolution. She earned an Honours BA from Mount Allison University in 1979 and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University in 1983, and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1984. She was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2006. She has taught family law at Dalhousie's Schulich School of Law and law at Mount Saint Vincent University, served on the Federal Advisory Committee on Family Law Issues that helped develop the Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines, and is a past President of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society and past national Chair of the Canadian Bar Association's Family Law Section. She is listed in Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Family Law, and is a member of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. She joined Conrad Dillon Robinson in 2020 with the Sealy Cornish Coulthard family law team.
