About Joseph

Joseph Horrigan primarily practises criminal law, defending individuals against a wide range of charges. He returned to his hometown of Peterborough after articling and working as an associate with Perrin Ahmad LLP, one of Northern Ontario's premier law firms, where he regularly appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. He earned his Honours B.A. in Law and Society, with distinction, from Wilfrid Laurier University, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. During law school, he was a member of the Innocence Project, assisting with the review of complex criminal cases including first-degree murder and arson matters, and completed a placement with Ottawa defence lawyer Leo Russomanno. He now serves as a professor of the advanced criminal law program at Trent University in Peterborough, and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Peterborough Law Association, and the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
