About Philip
Philip Stiles is a criminal defence lawyer with Aitken Robertson, practising primarily in the Durham region while also assisting the firm's Lindsay and Peterborough offices. Before moving into defence work, Philip spent two years with Alberta Justice and Solicitor General as a Crown prosecutor, then returned to Ontario to complete a Master's degree in Constitutional Law. Both prosecution and defence experience spans a wide range of criminal matters, from traffic court to jury trials, including cases involving assault, sexual assault, theft, extortion, dangerous driving causing death, and obstruction of justice. Philip was called to the bar in Ontario in 2013 and in Alberta in 2015, and completed an LL.M. at Osgoode Hall in 2018, holding an LL.B. from the University of Windsor and a B.A. in Political Science from Trent University, and belongs to the National College of DUI Defense along with several regional law associations.
