Family LawJonathan Katz advises clients in Indigenous legal services, environmental law, commercial law, financing law, and family law. He was called to the Bar in Manitoba in 2017 and in Nunavut in 2018, where he has assisted clients in negotiating land claim agreements, impact benefit agreements, and mine permitting, and has acted as lead counsel for landowners in regulatory hearings on land use planning and environmental impact assessment. His Nunavut practice has grown to include governance, finance, and corporate work supporting financial institutions, Inuit organizations, and businesses, and he sits on the Discipline Committee for the Law Society of Nunavut. Jonathan has also practised family law throughout his career, favouring resolution of disputes outside the courtroom, and returned to Duboff Edwards Schachter Law Corporation after three years practising family law at another large Winnipeg firm.
