About John

John Beckman is senior litigation counsel at McKercher LLP's Saskatoon office with decades of experience in complex commercial disputes, professional negligence, and First Nations litigation. He became a partner in 1980 and moved to Of Counsel status in 2018. He has appeared before numerous courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, for clients such as Walmart Canada, Deloitte, and Cameco Corporation. John earned a Bachelor of Science with distinction in Mathematics from the University of Saskatchewan in 1973 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1976, was called to the Saskatchewan bar in 1977, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1987. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers since 2006 and ranked in Chambers Canada's 2025 guide.
