John Nicholl is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Barreau du Québec, with more than 40 years of experience in insurance law. He joined the firm as a partner in Toronto in 2025 while continuing to serve longstanding clients from his Montreal practice. John's work has shifted over the years from insurance defence litigation toward coverage advice, arbitration, and litigation for insurers and reinsurers across Canada, covering areas such as property, course of construction, and product recall matters. He was called to the Quebec bar in 1980 and the Ontario bar in 2008, and received the Advocatus Emeritus distinction from the Barreau du Québec in 2012. John earned his law degrees from McGill University and works in both English and French.
