John Melia is a construction and commercial litigation lawyer who has acted on hundreds of complex disputes over the past 25 years, with trial, arbitration, and appeal experience involving major infrastructure and institutional projects. His clients include national and international contractors and subcontractors, municipalities, institutional owners, professional engineers, bonding companies, and construction insurers across Canada. His practice spans contract review, project delivery and financing, procurement, construction liens, delay claims, and deficiency and warranty disputes. He is also a construction and commercial disputes mediator and arbitrator, and has been Lexpert-ranked as a construction lawyer since 2021, featured in Lexpert's 2022 Special Edition on Canada's Leading Infrastructure Lawyers. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2001, earned his LL.B. from the University of Ottawa in 1999, and his B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1998.
