About Joanne

Joanne McPhail is the firm's Managing Partner and practices business and real estate law, bringing an entrepreneurial background to her advice. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours BA in 1990 and an LLB in 1993, and has lived and worked in Barrie since 1997. She is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Corporate and Commercial Law. Beyond her practice, Joanne has sat on numerous community boards, including Georgian College, the United Way of Greater Simcoe County, and the Barrie Food Bank, and was a founding board member of the Sandbox Centre. Within the firm, she also serves as Chief Innovation Officer and Chair of Finance, drawing on her real estate investment and development background to advise clients from both a legal and business perspective.
