About Joachim

Joachim Chau's insurance defence practice covers bodily injury, liability, property, construction, fire loss and professional negligence claims. Chau began a career in general litigation, including employment law and commercial litigation, before focusing on insurance defence. Joachim speaks fluent Cantonese as well as Mandarin, French and some Spanish, skills Chau has found useful both while travelling and on files. Chau was called to the Alberta bar in 2016 and the British Columbia bar in 2021, and won the Adams Oil and Gas Prize for best paper in current oil and gas issues during law school.
