JJ Camp, KC, is the retired founding partner of CFM Lawyers. He began his career at Ladner Downs, where he spent 24 years practising primarily in defence work, before establishing a plaintiff-side practice in 1993 that evolved into CFM in 2001. He fully retired in 2020 after practising law for 50 years. His plaintiff-side practice concentrated initially on product liability and aviation cases, and he became a nationally recognized class action lawyer. He was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, served as President of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association in 1986, and became President of the Canadian Bar Association in 1991. He received his Queen's Counsel designation in 1986 and appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada approximately 15 times during his career.
