About Jim
Jim Vigmond is a founding partner of Oatley Vigmond, having partnered with Roger Oatley more than twenty years ago to launch the firm. Raised in Brantford in a working family, he attended Queen's University Faculty of Law and was called to the bar in 1983. His practice concentrates on spinal cord injury, brain injury and serious orthopaedic cases, and he secured what was then the highest damages award for a spinal cord injury in Morrison v. Greig, worth $12.5 million to his client. Jim has appeared at every level of court, co-authored The Oatley-McLeish Guide to Personal Injury Practice in Motor Vehicle Cases, and returned to Queen's as an adjunct professor to build Canada's first Personal Injury Advocacy course. He is a past president of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
