About Cassandra
Cassandra Baars is a member of the Gitxsan Nation in northwest British Columbia. She holds an Honours Bachelor's degree in Indigenous Studies and Sociology from Trent University and earned her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, specializing in litigation, dispute resolution and the administration of justice with a focus on restorative justice and mediation. She has worked in Indigenous human rights, Indigenous child protection, family law, and policy and community engagement for governments and institutions. Her current practice focuses on representing First Nations in court and consultation matters across Ontario, as well as local clients in family and child protection litigation.
