About Brian

Brian Galbraith is the owner and founder of Galbraith Family Law. His own experience going through a divorce shapes how he approaches the practice, with an emphasis on treating clients with respect and resolving matters in a timely, cost-effective way. Brian is known for embracing mediation and Collaborative Practice, and he was a founding member of The Mediation Centre of Simcoe County, where he continues to mediate cases. He also helped introduce Collaborative Practice to Ontario and has taught workshops on its principles to lawyers, therapists, and financial specialists at local, provincial, and international levels. Brian earned his B.A. from Queen's University in 1986 and his LL.B. there in 1989, followed by an LL.M. in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2016. He has practiced since 1990 and focuses on property division, spousal and child support, equalization, and collaborative family law.
