About Jessica

Jessica DeFilippis is a member of TGF's Commercial Litigation group, working on contractual and commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, property disputes, estates matters, and corporate and construction litigation. Before joining the firm she articled at a full-service Toronto firm, where she was exposed to a range of litigation mandates across various levels of court. She holds a joint Canadian-American J.D., earned through the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy law schools, and during law school she completed a judicial internship with a civil court judge in Detroit and served as a Contract Law teaching assistant for two years. As an associate, she has worked on the receivership of Bridging Finance Inc., a mandate focused on recovering funds for tens of thousands of investors, and on construction, engineering, and design disputes involving public-private-partnership infrastructure projects in Ontario, as well as real property disputes. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2021.
