Bankruptcy & InsolvencyJeremy Cuttler is a partner practising bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring, banking and secured lending, commercial transactions and related litigation. His practice covers proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, receiverships, proposals, security enforcement and refinancing transactions, and he regularly acts for court-appointed officers, secured lenders and other stakeholders. In cross-border matters he has acted as Canadian counsel in significant U.S.-Canada insolvency proceedings, including the Madoff liquidation and the Montréal, Maine & Atlantic Canada Co. restructuring following the Lac-Mégantic rail disaster. His representative mandates include the CCAA restructuring of Valeo Pharma and the receivership of the Flora real estate development. Cuttler regularly lectures accounting and legal professionals on insolvency law and has co-authored an article on the interaction between bankruptcy law and Québec family patrimony rights.
