Jenaya Copithorne

About Jenaya

Jenaya Copithorne is an Associate in the firm's Construction + Engineering, Administrative Law, and Local Government groups, having completed her articles there before becoming an associate. During articles she gained experience in construction litigation, administrative law, and municipal law, appearing for clients in both the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. While in law school she worked as a research assistant with the Canada Climate Law Initiative, keeping track of how climate-related litigation and disclosure obligations were evolving, and during her second-year summer she was a legal summer student at a Vancouver energy utility focusing on regulatory compliance and project permitting. She also spent a summer reviewing legal and policy frameworks shaping how local governments respond to natural disasters such as floods and wildfires. Jenaya received the Lawson Lundell LLP Prize in Securities Regulation in 2023 and the Norman A.M. Mackenzie Scholarship in 2022 for academic achievement, and before law school she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from UBC with high distinction. She enjoys running, rowing, backpacking, and creative writing in her spare time.
