Behrendt Law is a sole-practitioner family and estates law firm in Ottawa, run by Jeffrey Behrendt from an office on Ogilvie Road in the city's east end. Behrendt's practice is devoted entirely to family and estates law: negotiating and litigating support, child custody and access, and division of property, and drafting prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, separation agreements, wills, and powers of attorney. The firm also drafts agreements for people using assisted reproductive technologies to have children, an area it calls fertility law. Behrendt has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and on appeals at the Divisional Court.

Behrendt was born and raised in Ottawa and earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Waterloo in 1993, graduating on the Dean's Honour List, before completing a Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 1996 (serving as an associate editor of the University of Toronto Law Review) and a Master of Laws with Merit at King's College London in 1998. Behrendt was called to the Ontario bar in 2000, after two judicial clerkships in Pennsylvania and after working at law firms in London, England, Toronto, and Ottawa. Behrendt now lives in Embrun and teaches law to paralegal students at Herzing College.
