About Janis
Janis Ko is a litigation lawyer at McLellan Herbert Locke who has practised exclusively in estates, trusts, and elder law for over a decade. She holds an undergraduate degree in cell and molecular biology from Simon Fraser University and a law degree from the UBC Allard School of Law. Before joining the firm, she practised at a large international law firm in Vancouver with a team of estate and trust lawyers. She has presented and written papers for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, and the Pacific Business Law Institute, and co-authored the CLE textbook Estate Disputes in British Columbia: A Litigator's Guide. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and a past chair of its Wills and Trusts Vancouver subsection, and speaks Cantonese at a conversational level.
