About James

James Sproule is a corporate and transactional partner at McKercher LLP's Saskatoon office representing clients across natural resources, mining, manufacturing, hospitality, and agriculture. His work spans corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and complex financings, including First Nations financing arrangements and commercial leasing. Admitted to the Saskatchewan bar in 1994 after articling at McKercher, he became partner in 2003 and represents the firm with Lawyers Associated Worldwide. James earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Saskatchewan in 1992 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1993, was appointed King's Counsel, and has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 2012, including as 2026 Lawyer of the Year for Mergers and Acquisitions.
