James McNeill runs a broad-based business law practice, advising clients that range from large, well-established corporations to small start-ups on both domestic and cross-border matters, in sectors including manufacturing, information technology, sales and distribution, entertainment, retail, employment, advertising and cannabis. While he practices primarily as a solicitor, he also has significant experience in corporate/commercial and tax litigation, having appeared before the Tax Court of Canada, the Ontario Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. He regularly deals with the Canada Revenue Agency on matters such as GST/HST director liability assessments, objections and appeals. His work also covers estate administration, business purchases and sales, financings, corporate reorganizations, commercial real estate, and drafting agreements including distribution, lease and licensing documents.
