About James

James De Melo began a career with the construction group of a well-known Bay Street firm before developing a resolution-focused approach to construction law. James has taken on significant roles across the full range of dispute resolution processes, from mediations and adjudications through to arbitrations and trials. That approach centers on understanding what clients are actually asking for and explaining the reasoning behind each step, on the view that this helps prevent new disputes from arising. James works with clients across Toronto, the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario.
